Science Deep Dive
Gentle Glow Cleanser
At the end of the day, you feel how much has accumulated on your skin. You want more than just cleansing; you want nourished, soothed, and prepared skin right from the start. The 01 Gentle Glow Cleanser is a medically developed cosmeceutical that applies the principles of preventative longevity to the very first step of your skincare routine. In line with the WHO's "Decade of Healthy Ageing" initiative, we pursue the goal of "healthspan optimization." Our formulations are based on the principles of "preventative longevity."
In this deep dive, you'll learn how our selected bioactive ingredients work deep within the skin's structure at a molecular level. We'll show you what they do, why we chose them, and how they help keep your skin healthy, resilient, and radiant.
Cosmeceuticals: Science meets nursing
The O1 Gentle Glow Cleanser is a cosmeceutical. The term was coined in 1984 by Dr. Albert Kligman, a combination of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, for skincare products that are applied externally like cosmetics but have pharmaceutical-like effects, with scientifically proven benefits and a very low risk profile.
-
For whom?
For all skin types, especially for dry, sensitive and redness-prone skin.
-
For what?
Gentle, pH-friendly cleansing removes dirt, sunscreen residue and make-up, preserves lipids, supports the barrier and prepares for subsequent care.
-
What will I see and when?
Instantly clear, soft skin feeling without tightness; with regular use, the surface appears calmer and more even.
Scientifically based anti-aging begins with cleansing. The 01 Gentle Glow Cleanser, a cosmeceutical cleanser, follows the principles of "preventive longevity" for clarified, strengthened skin that radiates from within.
Cleaning that can do more.
We developed the 01 Gentle Glow Cleanser to not only cleanse in the first step of your skincare routine, but also to actively contribute to your skin's health. It combines gentle cleansing with deeper nourishing effects: soothing, restoring, protecting, and providing lasting skin improvement right from the first step, and of course, it's free from ingredients classified as microplastics.

Scientifically sound application
According to standard dermatological literature, gel cleansing products with active ingredients should be applied to dry or only slightly damp skin. This prevents the active ingredient from becoming too diluted by water. The cleanser remains on dry skin for the longest time, which improves the absorption of the active ingredients.
A short application time of 30–60 seconds is recommended for bioactive cleansers to give the active ingredients enough contact time with the skin without irritating the skin barrier.
Some sources recommend not rinsing off cosmeceutical cleansers immediately, but rather gently massaging them in and allowing them to work. Pay particular attention to the T-zone. In dermatology, the T-zone refers to the area of the face encompassing the forehead, nose, and chin, forming a "T" shape (increased sebum production → therefore often oilier, shinier, more prone to blemishes, enlarged pores, and blackheads). Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water afterward and proceed with the next skincare step (toner) as usual. Depending on the severity of blemishes, it may be beneficial to cleanse the face twice a day. An external clinical study by Choi et al., 2010, suggests that using a mild cleanser twice daily for eight weeks as part of a skincare routine can improve the appearance of blemish-prone skin.
