The active ingredients they contain, such as panthenol, aloe vera, or peptides, begin to affect skin hydration, elasticity, and barrier function within one to three minutes. Studies show that even short contact times are sufficient to reduce transepidermal water loss. Subsequent skincare products, such as serums or creams, can further enhance this effect by improving the penetration of the toner's active ingredients.
