The moment after cleansing determines your skin's receptiveness. Your skin needs guidance: pH balancing, hydration stabilization, removal of residues, and the first active ingredients for glow and protection. The O2 Glow and Protect Toner is a cosmeceutical. The term was coined in 1984 by Dr. Albert Kligman, combining cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. This class of skincare products is applied topically like cosmetics but contains active ingredients of near-pharmaceutical quality with proven benefits and a very low risk profile.

Soothing & Protection: Natural Skin Balance
Scientifically sound application
Evidence-based literature recommends gentle application of cosmeceutical toners with the hands or a cotton pad, depending on skin type and product formulation. Patting the toner in with the hands is particularly suitable for sensitive skin, as it is less irritating. Application with a cotton pad can have a clarifying effect and remove residue, but is potentially irritating for sensitive or dry skin. Toners remain on the skin and are not rinsed off. The active ingredients they contain, such as panthenol, aloe vera, or peptides, begin to affect skin hydration, elasticity, and barrier function within one to three minutes. Studies show that even short contact times are sufficient to reduce transepidermal water loss. Subsequent skincare products, such as serums or creams, can further enhance this effect by improving the penetration of the toner's active ingredients. For effective application, the toner should be completely absorbed before applying any further skincare steps, usually within 30 seconds to three minutes.
