Combination logic: Humectants, skin-related lipids and antioxidant stabilization through tocopherol work together to support the resilience and suppleness of the skin.
The skin barrier as the key to long-term skin health
A resilient skin barrier is the foundation for healthy, supple skin. It regulates the skin's moisture balance, protects against pollutants, and is crucial for long-term skin function. When this barrier is weakened by environmental stress, aging, or improper skincare, the skin loses moisture and becomes more sensitive to stimuli. This leads to increased transepidermal water loss (TEWL), making the skin more susceptible to dryness, irritation, and structural changes. In the 08 360° All Day Protection Cream, hydrating active ingredients and regenerating lipid complexes combine to form a holistic protection system that supports the natural function of the skin barrier.
Glycerol and saccharide isomerates (Pentavitin®)
Glycerin and saccharide isomerate (Pentavitin®) act like a moisture magnet, drawing water into the stratum corneum, while Pentavitin® binds to the corneocytes (the protective corneocytes of the outermost layer of skin), thus enabling particularly long-lasting hydration.
Lipid complexes
Lipid complexes made from coco-caprylate/caprate, jojoba oil, almond oil, sunflower oil, and shea butter supply the skin with skin-like lipids. They replenish skin-related lipids in the spaces between the stratum corneum and support the restoration of the lamellar lipid structure. This layered lipid arrangement is a key mechanism for supple and resilient skin.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Tocopherol (vitamin E), a fat-soluble antioxidant, protects the lipid components of cell membranes from lipid peroxidation. It shields lipid structures from oxidative damage caused by UV radiation, environmental stress, or inflammatory stimuli, stabilizes cell membranes, and thus complements the building and hydration effects at the antioxidant level. Studies show that this effect can last up to 72 hours, even under low humidity conditions.
